Scooting in the Crib

First of all, I am happy to say that Benjamin, ever since my birthday, has slept 9+ hours in a row each night! This is a fantastic achievement and I hope he keeps it up for when I go back to work this Wednesday!

Now for the fun new development (though the 'sleeping through the night' development is quite exciting for me, too)! Usually, whenever Benjamin wakes up, I find him where I left him in the crib. Here is a picture of where I usually have him in the crib.

Now here he is where I found him at 5 a.m. this morning. After he ate, I placed him back in the crib and then he slept until 8:30. Again, I had placed him away from the sides of the crib and again he had moved up to the edge. I do not know how he scooted that far on his back, twice. He hasn't done this before in his crib or anywhere else.

Yesterday, Benjamin had his first playgroup for babies. There were three other babies there - all of them girls! One was a couple days younger than Benjamin (Melanie), then another was 5 1/2 months (Ivy), and the third was 7 months (Reese). I wish I had taken pictures because they were all so cute, but I had just met their moms and felt it might be a little much to ask them to pose their children with my child. Next time, though! It was fun to see them 'interact', which consisted mostly of them staring at each other and grabbing at each other's hands. Reese rolled over a couple of times to get close to Benjamin and Ivy would try to reach him by laying on her side and stretching her arms towards him. Benjamin seemed mostly unfazed when they would touch his head or grab his hands, but he did enjoy watching them in general.
