Butterflies and Stickers

As Benjamin is getting older, he is getting better and better at his fine motor skills. He loves to stack things on top of each other, put things in containers, scribble on paper, and play with stickers. He has such patience and determination, but of course he has moments where he gets frustrated.

Putting butterflies in a Christmas container.

Putting stickers on the a Christmas card, both of which were sent from Grandma Patty

Doing such a good job!
In terms of verbal skills, Benjamin is communicating pretty well using a combination of single words, gestures, and some signing (primarily the sign for 'more' and 'all done'). He says 'ball', 'hat', 'bath', 'num', 'no' (although only occasionally so far, thank goodness!), and has even said 'Hi Dada'. What is amazing is how much we can tell he understands. If I ask him if he wants milk, his eyes will light up and and he will walk over to the fridge to await me getting the milk out. I can ask him if he wants to go out, and he will walk to the front door.
He also responds a lot to the TV shows he watches. Though I know he shouldn't watch too much TV, he absolutely adores Tigger and Pooh and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It is so cute to see him dance around to his favorite songs and to point to his head when the 'Think, Think, Think' song is on.
