Time is just flying by, as Benjamin is now four months old. It seems like just yesterday that he was born and now he has grown so much. We had his four month appointment today and the doctor was happy with his progress. He is now in the 15-20% for the size of his head, 45% (14.9 lbs) for weight, and 90% for height (26 1/2 inches). He is able to support his head quite well and put weight on his legs while standing. The doctor also asked about how he was eating and sleeping, which of course both are going well. Thank goodness we are over the swing! The only thing that we need to work on is more tummy time so that he can roll over more. He used to do this but has not really been doing it lately. At the end of the appointment, he got his second round of shots. He did not take it very well this time, as he cried very hard and turned bright red. Steve had not seen this before and was quite surprised as to how red Benjamin could turn and said it reminded him of when Benjamin was born.

I love hoodies!

Benjamin, right after his shots. You can see his band-aid on his left thigh.
Otherwise, it was a pretty low key day. I think the combination of the shots, not sleeping too well last night (some coughing, though not as bad as the previous night), and his little cold made him a very sleepy boy. He took a two hour nap (usually it is only one hour) when we got home, and then slept on my lap for three hours after feeding (I didn't have the heart to move him).
Finally, I should mention that I will be returning to work tomorrow. I have mixed emotions about this, of course. I am excited to see my students again, but I definitely do not want to leave Benjamin. It will be very hard for me to do so and I look forward to our next break! It has also been very stressful to make sure everything is set for him while I am gone. However, he will be in excellent hands - either his Daddy or Grandma Zusman. We are very fortunate to have Grandma Zusman so close by and so willing to help - we couldn't do it without her!
